TITLE: PROGRAM COORDINATOR
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Assists in the coordination of all aspects of specific school programs for Alleghany County Public Schools by providing leadership for students and staff consistent with division goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate must possess or be eligible for a valid Virginia Teachers License
Have demonstrated the professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, school personnel and members of the community.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists with the implementation of curriculum and educational objectives consistent with program goals;
2. Demonstrate the leadership to design solutions for educational applications of technology and promote use by teachers, students, and administrators;
3. Serve as project coordinator for overall transformation effort, including implementation of project goals, status updates to key constituents, and coordination with appropriate district personnel;
4. Plan, design, organize, supervise and evaluate the work flow of schools relative to the implementation of program goals;
5. Coordinate appropriate training and in-service for program and district personnel,
6. Plan and coordinate data collection for the purposes of program evaluation and development, communication, and marketing;
7. Participate in ongoing professional development with partner schools;
8. Actively seek future technology, study educational trends and implement best practices in information and telecommunications technologies and evaluate their applicability to district operations;
9. Participate in the development of policies and procedures on the use of computers, digital and mobile devices and technology for administrative and instructional purposes;
10. Serve as lead and/or team member for various program events;
11. Maintains effective discipline and fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff;
12. Completes required reports;
13. Develops and participates in staff development and programs for all program staff;
14. Takes major responsibility for creating an effective environment for learning;
15. Coordinates the planning and implementing of the program budget;
16. Maintains records and files of meetings and assorted communiqués;
17. Analyzes data on student achievement;
18. Creates a supportive learning environment for all students that encourages social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation;
19. Complies with and supports school and division regulations and policies;
20. Assumes responsibilities outside the classroom as they relate to school;
21. Demonstrates non-discriminatory practices in all activities;
22. Must possess demonstrated leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers, and parents as attested to by the Division Superintendent of Schools. Candidate must possess good moral character; and
23. Performs related duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or Building Principal in accordance with school/system policies and practices.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve-month contract, Exempted FLSA status. The School Board shall establish a salary annually.
EVALUATION:
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations and evaluation of administrative personnel.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must possess demonstrated leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers and parents as attested to by the Division Superintendent.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIROMENTAL FACTORS:
Frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting, up to 30 pounds may be required.
It is anticipated that some stress will be associated with this position primarily due to deadlines and irregular work flow. It is necessary that the individual have the capacity to remain calm, considerate and tactful.
