Students in Angel Robertson’s Early Childhood/IPOP class at Mountain View Elementary School celebrate Constitution Day, observed Sept. 17, by showing off patriotic hats. Front row, from left, are John Thomas Wilkins, Madilynn Nicely, Wrenley Thompson, Peyton Mayberry, Lilly-Anne Endsley, Kimora Marshall, and Koalson Graham. Back row, from left, are Robertson, teacher; Johnna Waugh, paraprofessional; and Emma Laviolette. This year, Constitution Day fit especially well with Alleghany Highlands Public Schools' ongoing Virginia250 celebration, giving students a way to connect with Virginia’s role in American history.
