The Alleghany Highlands School Board has approved the appointment of Cynthia Morgan as director of instruction.

Nineteen students in the Class of 2026 at Alleghany High School will be the first to earn the Cougar Compass Seal, a new graduation distinction recognizing student readiness for life after high school through achievement in academics, leadership, service and future planning.
