Alleghany Highlands Public Schools is proud to recognize its school leaders during Virginia Principals Appreciation Week, Jan. 12-16, honoring the dedication, leadership, and commitment of principals who serve students, staff, and families across the division.

LOW MOOR — Alleghany Highlands Public Schools will host kindergarten orientation events at its elementary schools on Thursday, Feb.19, to begin registering students for the 2026-27 school year.

COVINGTON — Alleghany High School is calling on the community to help support the Class of 2026 as scholarship season begins, offering local residents, businesses and organizations a chance to invest in graduating seniors’ future education and career plans.

Alleghany High School seniors Dominic Brown and Joowon Chung have earned 2025 QuestBridge National College Match Scholarships, securing spots at two of the nation’s most prestigious universities.

An’Talei Morris, a fifth grader at Mountain View Elementary School, has been selected as the winner of the Alleghany Highlands Public Schools 2025 Holiday Card Art Contest.

Alleghany High School welcomed Congressman Ben Cline on Tuesday, Nov. 25, as he visited government students to discuss how Congress works and how federal decisions impact life in the Alleghany Highlands.

COVINGTON — Students in Alleghany High School’s Alleghany Highlands Advancement: Law and Politics program recently had the chance to hear from two accomplished legal and government professionals, gaining firsthand insight into careers in law, government, and public service.
