LOW MOOR -- Due to the possibility of inclement weather associated with the remnants of Hurricane Ian on Friday evening, football games involving Covington High School and Alleghany High School have been rescheduled.

Both teams will now play on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022.

Covington High School will host Grayson County at Boodie Albert Stadium. CHS homecoming activities will be held at halftime. The game will start at 7 p.m. Also at 7 p.m., Alleghany High School will host Radford at Mountaineer Field.

All three school divisions agreed to move the games based on student safety concerns. The National Weather Service predicts that widespread rain and wind will move into the Alleghany Highlands Friday morning with heavy rain currently predicted by 5 p.m. on Friday.

Because of the timing of the rescheduling of the games, AHPS is using a press release to help maximize public awareness.
